AIKIDO is a dynamic and free of violence martial art, developed by O-Sensei(japanese: highly advanced teacher) Morihei Uyeshiba(1883-1969) based on existing Budo techniques.
According to Uyeshiba-Sensei invincibility means the freedom of fixating thoughts, hence the way to find ones own self.
An important objective of AIKIDO is to already recognise an attack(aggression) even before the attack starts.
If this can be accomplished the power of the aggression can be diverted towards positive actions. If the physical attack takes place the power of the aggressor is utilised to throw him or to lead him towards ground(for examples please take a look at Video Clips).
These skills are taught within AIKIDO training, which is characterised by the respect towards the training partners.
AIKIDO is practised by women and men (young to old) who doesn't search for competition but to grow their personality. Not the strength is crucial but the intention to grow as human being.
In our Dojo we practise Tendoryu AIKIDO.
Tendoryu AIKIDO is founded and lead by Shimizu Sensei who was one of the last Uchi Deshi(direct student living in the teachers Dojo) of Uyeshiba Sensei. Tendoryu AIKIDO is characterised by great, flowing and clear movements, which convince by their naturalness.
